There are no universal size standards in the apparel business. One manufacturer’s large is another manufacturer’s medium, etc. These measurements, shown in inches, on this size chart, pertain to R. J. Clancey Sun Dresses, and have no relationship to any other dress maker or brand name.
BUST or CHEST - Circumference measurement, taken across chest, seam-to-seam, just below armpits. Add approx. 2" of allowance provided by the ruched (gathered) bust line if needed
Empire Waist - (Rib Cage) Smallest circumference measurement taken approx. 4 1/2" below empire bust seam.
HIP - Widest circumference measurement between Torso (Rib Cage) and hem. Approx. 9 - 10" above bottom of dress.
LENGTH - Measured from the top of the shoulder starp to the bottom of the dress.
