Men's Hawaiian Shirts
Men's Hawaiian shirts picked and shipped by a family shop in Wailuku, Maui. Most of what sits at the top of this page is RJC cotton and Paradise Found rayon, both sewn in Hawaii, and several prints run all the way to 5X.
Buying guide & FAQ
Cotton or rayon?
Pick cotton if you want a shirt you can throw in the wash every week. It's a little crisper, holds its shape, and hangs away from the body instead of clinging. Most of the RJC shirts here are cotton, and they carry the deepest size runs on the page.
Pick rayon if you want the soft, heavy drape people picture when they think of a vintage aloha shirt. It feels cooler on a hot day and moves when you walk. It also asks for gentler washing, so read our care guide before the first wash.
How these shirts fit
Every Hawaiian maker cuts to its own size chart, so a Large from one label isn't the same as a Large from the next. Paradise Found's men's shirts, for one, run large. An aloha shirt is also meant to hang loose and comfortable, with a straight hem made to be worn untucked, so don't expect the snug fit of a dress shirt.
The surest way to choose: lay a shirt you already like flat, measure it armpit to armpit and from the collar seam to the hem, and email those two numbers to jz@MauiShirts.com. We'll tell you which size to order in the shirt you're looking at.
Big and tall sizes
A lot of shops stop at XL or 2X. Several RJC cotton prints, Classic Hibiscus among them, are stocked from Small through 5X-Large in the same print, so the biggest guy at the reunion is wearing the same shirt as everyone else. Browse Big & Tall or the 4X to 6X shirts to see only what comes in larger sizes.
How to tell a Hawaii-made shirt
Check the Fabric line on the product page. When a shirt is sewn in Hawaii, it says so there. Small details help too: a pocket cut so the print lines up with the shirt behind it, and coconut shell or wood buttons instead of plastic.
Common questions
Are your men's Hawaiian shirts made in Hawaii?
Most of the shirts at the top of this page are RJC and Paradise Found, and both are sewn in Hawaii. When a shirt is made in Hawaii, the Fabric line on its product page says so.
What sizes do your men's aloha shirts come in?
Most run Small to 2X, and several RJC cotton prints go to 5X-Large. Our Big & Tall and 4X to 6X collections show only the shirts stocked in larger sizes.
How do I find my size in a Hawaiian shirt?
Sizing differs from brand to brand, and Paradise Found men's shirts run large. Lay a shirt you like flat, measure armpit to armpit and collar seam to hem, and email the numbers to jz@MauiShirts.com. We'll recommend a size.
Should I tuck in a Hawaiian shirt?
No. A traditional aloha shirt has a straight hem cut to be worn out and is meant to fit loose. Tucked in, it bunches at the waist.
