The measurements are taken from random shirts and NOT your body.

LENGTH is the measurement from the top middle of the collar to the bottom of the shirt.
The SHIRT CHEST, WAIST & BOTTOM are measurements of the circumference determined by adding the back and front. The Chest measurement is taken from under the armpits from seam to seam.
