There are no universal size standards in the apparel business. One manufacturer’s large is another manufacturer’s medium, etc. These measurements, shown in inches, on this size chart, pertain to R. J. Clancey HALTER Dresses, and have no relationship to any other dress maker or brand name. BUST or CHEST measurement is the circumference measurement taken from the bottom of the armpits from seam to seam. The measurement is taken with the dress flat on a table. Bust darting and halter straps with two button positions allow for shortening, lengthening or crossing the straps for adjustable fit.
TORSO is a circumference measurement taken approximately 1 1/2" below the empire line below the bust darts. It is the narrowest measurement between the bust and the hip.
HIP is a circumference measurement. It is the widest measurement of the dress approximately nine to eleven inches above the bottom hem line.
